Mother's wants a seat at the table

Recently we got word from Lisa Schroeder, chef and owner of Mother's Bistro & Bar in downtown Portland, that she sat down with staff from Senator Merkley's office earlier this month. Lisa, a huge supporter of wild salmon and steelhead restoration, talked about the need for new stakeholder talks in the Columbia-Snake Basin. She delivered a letter to Senator Merkley carrying this same message.

Here's an excerpt from her letter:

"Portland restaurants have made a real name for themselves on the national scene in recent years. This is in large part due to our access to healthy, delicious, locally sourced foods. Wild salmon is a fundamental part of this bounty and a staple item on our menu at Mother's Bistro & Bar... I hope you will carry the call for change and bring parties with a stake in Columbia and Snake River salmon restoration together toward a lasting solution that works for both our economy and ecology."
